SO TRENDY THIS SEASON!! OUR CHOCOLATE PINE CONES LOOK THE PART FOR A CHRISTMAS SHOWSTOPPER AND ARE CRUNCHY ON THE OUTSIDE AND SOFT AND FULL OF CHOCOLATE INSIDE



INGREDIENTS
MAKES 4 LARGE PINE CONES
BAG OF CHOCO COCO POPS
100g BUTTER
70g SELF RAISING FLOUR
30g COCOA POWDER
2 EGGS
100g CASTER SUGAR
150ml DOUBLE CREAM
50g DARK CHOCOLATE
RECIPE
- PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 180 (FAN)
IN A BOWL CREAM THE SUGAR AND BUTTER TOGETHER - ADD IN THE COCOA POWDER, FLOUR AND EGGS AND MIX WELL
- POUR THE MIXTURE INTO SMALL TIN LINED WITH BAKING PAPER AND PUT IN THE OVEN TO BAkE FOR APPROX 30 MINUTES (PUT A SKEWER IN TO CHECK IT’S COOKED – IF NO CRUMBS STICK TO THE SKEWER THEN IT’S READY)
- ONCE OUT THE OVEN – HEAT THE DOUBLE CREAM TO BOILING POINT AND THEN ADD IN THE CHOCOLATE, LEAVE FOR A MINUTE AND THEN MIX
- USING A KNIFE, CUT OFF THE HARD CRUST FROM THE TOP AND DISCARD. USING A FORK MASH UP THE REMAINING CAKE SO IT BECOMES MORE LIKE CRUMBS.
- ADD IN THE CHOCOLATE CREAM MIX IN TO THE CRUMBS AND MIX WELL. NOW USING YOUR HANDS, TAKE CHUNKS OF THE MIXTURE AND SQUASH TOGETHER AND FORM AN EGG/PINE CONE SHAPE
- NOW ADD THE COCO POP CHOCCO FLAKES STARTING FROM THE BOTTOM AND WORKING YOUR WAY UP. PUSH THEM IN ENOUGH SO THEY STAY AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!!
