125G SOFT BUTTER
TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
75G ICING SUGAR
1 EGG YOLK
175G PLAIN FLOUR
HALF A JAR OF STRAWBERRY JAM
YOU WILL NEED A HEART COOKIE CUTTER AND A ROUND COOKIE CUTTER
RECIPE
FIRSTLY
MIX THE SOFT BUTTER WITH THE ICING SUGAR
NOW…
ADD THE EGG YOLK AND VANILLA EXTRACT AND MIX LIGHTLY
ADD THE FLOUR
AND MIX WELL TO FORM A ROUGH BALL
WRAP
THE MIXTURE TIGHTLY IN CLINGFILM AND PLACE IN THE FRIDGE TO CHILL FOR 1 HOUR
AFTER 1 HOUR
PREHEAT THE OVEN 170°C
ON A FLOURED SURFACE ROLL OUT THE DOUGH AND CUT OUT 6 LARGE ROUND SHAPES AND PLACE THEM ONTO A LINED BAKING TRAY.
GATHER THE DOUGH BACK TOGETHER AN ROLL OUT AGAIN AND CUT OUT ANOTHER 6 ROUNDS AND ADD THEM TO A TRAY. NOW USE THE HEART CUTTER TO CUT OUT 6 OF THOSE SHAPES ON THE TRAY (YOU WILL HAVE 6 BOTTOMS AND 6 HEART TOPS)
BAKE
FOR 10 MINUTES
REMOVE
FROM THE OVEN AND ADD A DOLLOP OF JAM TO THE 6 BOTTOMS AND THEN PLACE THE 6 HEART TOPS ON TOP TO MAKE A SANDWICH
