A REALLY QUICK AND EASY BAKE TO DO WITH THE KIDS THIS VALENTINE’S!!!



INGREDIENTS
200G SOFT BUTTER
200G CASTER SUGAR
150G SELF RAISING FLOUR
50G COCOA POWDER
4 EGGS
ICING SUGAR – EITHER TO MAKE BUTTERCREAM OR GLACE ICING
YOU WILL NEED A HEART COOKIE CUTTER AND A ROUND COOKIE CUTTER
RECIPE
FIRSTLY
PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 170°C AND LINE A DEEP BAKING TRAY OR TIN WITH BAKING PAPER
NOW…
MIX THE SOFT BUTTER WITH THE CASTER SUGAR
THEN…
ADD THE EGGS AND THE FLOUR AND MIX WELL
POUR
THE MIXTURE INTO THE TRAY AND LEVEL OUT WITH A SPATULA.
BAKE IN THE OVEN FOR 15-20 MINUTES. TO CHECK IT’S COOKED, PUSH A SKEWER INTO THE CAKE AND IF IT COMES OUT CLEAN IT’S READY. IF THE SKEWER HAS AND MIXTURE ON IT THEN IT MAY NEED A BIT LONGER.
REMOVE
FROM THE OVEN AND ALLOW TO COOL FOR 5 MINUTES. THEN USING YOUR HEART CUTTER, CUT OUT THE SHAPES CAREFULLY. I CUT MY HEARTS IN HALF TO DOUBLE THEM UP AS THEY WERE THICK ENOUGH!
ALLOW THEM TO COOL
ONCE FULLY COOLED DECORATE THEM WITH EITHER BUTTERCREAM OR GLACE ICING…A FUN ACTIVITY FOR THE KIDS TO DO
