MY HOMEMADE MINCEMEAT IS DELICIOUS AND SO EASY TO MAKE AND YOU CAN TAILOR IT TO YOUR OWN PREFERENCE!



INGREDIENTS
(MAKES 3-4 JARS)
175G RAISINS
175G CURRANTS
175G DRIED CRANBERRIES
17G SULTANAS
125G BUTTER
50G GLACE CHERRIES – CUT INTO QUARTERS
50G DRIED APRICOTS – CHOPPED SMALL
1 APPLE – PEELED AND FINELY CHOPPED
50G TOASTED ALMONDS – CRUSHED
1 ORANGE – GRATED AND ZESTED
200ML BRANDY OR ORANGE COINTREAU (I PREFER ORANGE COINTREAU AS IT GIVES MORE FLAVOUR)
1 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON
1 TEASPOON MIXED SPICE
225G LIGHT MUSCOVADO SUGAR
IF YOU PREFER MIXED PEEL OR OTHER DRIED FRUIT OR NUTS YOU CAN USE THOSE AS AN ALTERNATIVE

RECIPE
PUT ALL THE INGREDIENTS INTO A LARGE PAN (BUT NOT THE ALCOHOL)
COOK ON A VERY LOW HEAT, STIRRING THROUGHOUT UNTIL THE BUTTER IS FULLY MELTED
IT WILL SMELL UTTERLY DIVINE WHEN COOKING!! IT WILL ONLY TAKE APPROX 5-10 MINUTES
LEAVE TO COOL DOWN AND THEN ADD IN THE BRANDY OR COINTREAU
SPOON IN TO JARS AND SEAL. KEEP THEM IN A CUPBOARD AND USE WHEN READY!!
